Veranos de la Villa
Summer means long days and even longer nights, and if you haven’t headed off to the coast yet, don’t miss Veranos de la Villa. The annual celebration is two months of music, dance, zarzuelas (Spanish opera-theatre) and bullfights at cultural venues around the city. This year there will be concerts by Gloria Gaynor and Macy Gray, a jazz performance by Diana Krall, a tribute to James Brown, tango, flamenco and ballet exhibitions as well as outdoor films and circus performances. The main locations will be Conde Duque, La Muralla Arabe, Sabatini Gardens and Casa de América, but see the website for a full list. This year Veranos has added live music salas to the list, so check their website frequently for an updated concert calendar. Veranos de la Villa, throughout July and August all over Madrid.
